Check out Ban Ki Moon’s timely comment in The Guardian (’Power Lies in Unity’ 23/9). He says “the foundation of all the UN’s work is accountability”. the Influx Project helps to make the UN accountable to people, rather than governments. This is why we should all get involved - and why Ban Ki Moon should love the Influx Project!

International diplomacy is unaccountable argues by Andreas Bummel in Policy Innovations (July ’08). He highlights that international diplomats are detached from ordinary citizens, and often even their own parliaments! He goes on to point out that it is ”increasingly obvious that governments alone are not able to cope with the global challenges, not even collectively. The Millennium Development Goals are only achievable by close cooperation with and mobilization of civil society at all levels.”
Yet another example of the need for the Influx Project to improve democracy at the international level! Influx gives you the chance to have your say about what’s going on in the world, support the Millennium Development Goals AND better hold those secretive international politicians to account!
